Ruth Steinert Memorial SPCA’s mission as a no kill shelter is to protect the welfare of all domestic animals and promote the humane treatment & well being of these animals by the following:
-Providing shelter and medical care for stray, abandoned, & unwanted animals in Schuylkill County Pennsylvania.
-Responding with personal commitment, humane sensitivity, & compassion to the needs of these animals.
-Actively promoting suitable adoptions of these animals.
-Encouraging the spay & neutering of dogs & cats to prevent further pet overpopulation.
The animals in our care are never euthanized merely because we lack space or because the animal’s stay with us has exceeded a predefined amount of time.
Unfortunately, due to the fire in January, we are unable to accept any dogs at this time & we do not have any dogs at the facility right now.
We have Schuylkill County Dog Licenses available. All dogs, 3 months & older, must have a current license. Dog licenses expire on 12/31 every year. Failure to have a license may result in being fined.
The license fees are as follows:
Male-$8.95
Neutered male-$6.95
Female-$8.95
Spayed female-$6.95
All fees are $2.00 less for persons with a disability & for senior citizens.
